The iPhone browser with its own passcode

The Blank lock screen

Blank locks with a passcode that is separate from your iPhone passcode, plus Face ID or Touch ID. Someone who knows how to unlock your iPhone still cannot open Blank, its history, or its vault.

Why a separate passcode matters

Safari's locked private tabs and the iOS app lock both open with your iPhone passcode, so anyone who has seen you type it can get in. Blank asks for its own passcode instead. If someone adds a new face to Face ID, Blank stops accepting Face ID and asks for its own passcode again.

What the lock covers

  • Every tab and your history, which Blank keeps encrypted and shows only after you unlock.
  • The vault with your saved videos and photos.
  • Passwords and passkeys, which Blank keeps itself instead of in iCloud Keychain.
  • Blank AI chats and the email inbox.

Nothing shows while it is locked

  • Blank locks when you leave the app. You choose how soon in Settings.
  • The app switcher shows a blank screen, not your last page.
  • Notifications say "New notification" and never name a site or a sender.
  • The passcode has 6 digits, or letters and numbers if you prefer.

A separate passcode for each space

A space holds its own tabs, history, vault, passwords, and email addresses. Each space has its own passcode, and that passcode opens only its space, with no sign that other spaces exist. Blank includes one space for free, and Blank+ has unlimited spaces.

Break-in photos

With Blank+, Blank takes a photo with the front camera after wrong passcode attempts and keeps a log of them.

No account

Blank never asks for an email address or a phone number. You pick a passcode and start browsing. Ads and trackers are blocked on every site, for free. The guide How to lock a browser with Face ID compares Blank with the locks built into iOS.

Questions

What if I forget my Blank passcode?

Blank cannot reset it, because your data is encrypted with keys only your iPhone holds. If backup is on, install Blank again and restore it with your 12 recovery words.

Can I use Face ID?

Yes. Face ID or Touch ID opens Blank, and its own passcode is always the backup. Blank asks for the passcode again when a new face is added to Face ID.

Does Blank work on iPad and Mac?

Yes. Blank runs on iPhone, iPad, and Macs with Apple silicon.
